Summer
As you leave Landeck, driving along the Inn towards South Tyrol or Switzerland, the sun might suddenly disappear, even if it's early in the afternoon. The mountains reach great heights here, and their shadows stretch far across the valley. If you lease the busy main road to the west, following the sings to Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis , you will soon be pleasantly surprised. Once you have passed the first three serpentines, the sun returns, and the higher you wiggle your way up, the stronger it shines. After the last serpentine the road peters out on a terrific plateau. The Tyroleans, quite rightly, call it their 'sunny plateau', for here the sun shines more often and more intensive than anywhere else in the country.
Down below a swift underground train, up above a beautiful village
The main road ends here, and a parking garage immediatly holds back the cars of visitors on a day trip (long-term guests may drive through to their accommodation). Those who would like to proceed into the village can use the one-of-a-kind underground system. Serfaus had it built mainly to free the village centre of traffic in winter and to maintain its tranquil character. You can see how well this worked out, as you stroll through the village past old wooden houses, barns and stables. The church tower in the centre of Serfaus also bears witness to the Rhaeto-Romanic roots. Serfaus has been awarded the title 'Family Dorf Tirol' for its execellent variety of offerings for children and families. The entertainment centre for children here is called 'Murmliclub'. Absolutely one-of-kind are the 'Murmliwasser' water park and the 'Murmlitrail'-an interactive adventure trail with figures that speak when touched, move when you climb on them, or sing on demand. Also lunchtime supervision for children is available in Serfaus, with lunch provided at a small extra charge.
Winter
Serfaus sets a high value on service and convenience, as is evident in
the wide variety of facilities in the village and in the skiing region.
At the terminal underground station there is the new 'S1-Zentrum'. This
infotainment centre is one of a kind in Europe and includes a ski
school office, a piano bar, a cigar lounge, VIP shop, and the
'Check-in' ski rental and ski depot right net door. Adults swing up to
the middle Komperdell station on fast gondolas, while children can use
their very own 'Murmli' truck.Having arrived at the top other Serfaus specialities await you: 'Take-Off'centre, a unique venue for the new winter sports with rental and instruction services, and the 'Kinderschneealm'. Not wanting to overstate the obvious, this is one of the best entertainment centres for children in the Alps, with a children's ski school, a ski kindergarten with day-care facilities, countless game and adventure areas, like the 'Family Park Serfaus' with a tubing park, a skidoo track and an igloo village, a children's restaurant, and the so-called 'Murmlitrail' with eight event stations and talking figures. The 'Murmlikrippe' at the valley station in Serfaus offers da nursery for children between 0 and 5. Then there is a 10,000 sqm kids paradise right in the middle of Serfaus. In addition to the 'Kinderschneealm' the new 'Murmlipark' guarantees fun galore for our younger visitors.
Savour the exceptional architecture and exclusive range of offers at Tyrol's Prremiere Ski Lounge in Komperdell, or check out the 'Flight & Cross Park' in Plansegg, the fun park for the entire family.
Another benefit of Serfaus is the high standart of hotel, catering and entertainment industry. There are numerous 4 and 5 star hotels in Serfaus, as well as a wide range of themed hotels catering for families or wellness fans. Apart from the excellent hotel cuise there are very good restaurants and alpine cabins with first-class food.
A highlight in entertainment is the 'Adventure Night' that takes place once a week and very elegantly combines music events with a laser show, dinner and night skiing.
